In this project, we employed cutting-edge technologies that have significantly evolved in the last decade. Our primary focus was to create a visually appealing, responsive, and user-friendly website that showcases Scotty Brand’s products and highlights their dedication to quality and provenance.
First and foremost, we chose WordPress as our content management system (CMS) due to its flexibility, scalability, and extensive plugin ecosystem. WordPress has come a long way since its inception as a simple blogging platform, and its robust capabilities made it the perfect choice for Scotty Brand’s needs.
We utilised HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript to ensure the website’s responsiveness. These technologies have made leaps and bounds in the past ten years, with significant advancements in browser support, compatibility, and new features, enabling us to create a seamless user experience across various devices.
One of the most exciting elements of this project was integrating Scotty Brand’s vibrant, farm-fresh branding with modern design principles. We employed CSS Grid and technologies similar to Flexbox for a dynamic and responsive layout, which allowed us to create a visually stunning website that maintains the brand’s unique identity.
WordPress and SEO
We adhered to best practices throughout development, such as mobile-first design, clean and maintainable code, and search engine optimisation (SEO) principles. We also utilised version control systems, like Git, to ensure a smooth workflow and facilitate collaboration within our team.
Despite facing challenges with third-party plugin compatibility and bespoke feature requirements, we tackled these issues head-on by liaising closely with the client, conducting thorough unit, system and integration testing, and customising plugins as necessary. Ultimately, we delivered a visually striking and functional website that exceeded Scotty Brand’s expectations.
