We create impactful digital solutions that bring communities together. We partnered with London Sports, a social project dedicated to centralising information about sports events across London. Our goal was to develop a responsive, user-friendly platform that allows Londoners to explore and participate in the city’s thriving sports scene, covering the top 10 most popular sports.
User-centricity
To make London Sports an effective hub, we designed a dynamic website that provides up-to-date information on sports events and venues. Using HTML5, CSS3, and JQuery, we created a responsive layout that adapts seamlessly across devices, enabling users to access information from desktops, tablets, and smartphones. This user-centric approach ensures Londoners can discover local sports events on the go, enhancing accessibility and engagement.
We worked closely with London Sports to identify and feature the top 10 sports that attract the most participants and fans across the city. These include:
- Covering amateur football leagues, charity matches, and city tournaments.
- Showcasing local cricket clubs, weekend fixtures, and friendly tournaments.
- Highlighting grassroots rugby matches, club training sessions, and special events.
- Listing tennis open courts, club events, and regional competitions.
- Featuring cycling group rides, competitive races, and city cycling tours.
- Informing users about marathons, 5Ks, charity runs, and park runs.
- Promoting community basketball games, training sessions, and amateur tournaments.
- Centralising information on swim meets pool access, and triathlon prep.
- Highlighting rowing clubs, training schedules, and river-based events.
- Covering local boxing matches, gym memberships, and youth training programs.
Each sport has a dedicated section on the site, which allows users to easily find relevant events, venues, and registration links.
To help users navigate the extensive database of sports events, we implemented an advanced search and filtering system. Users can filter events by sport type, location, date, and skill level, making it easy to find events that match their interests. This functionality encourages participation by helping users locate events that are accessible and relevant to them.
We set up a robust content management system (CMS) based on WordPress that allows the London Sports team to update events, add new sports categories, and easily manage user inquiries. The CMS is structured with user roles, enabling event coordinators and site administrators to keep content fresh and accurate without requiring technical support.
To increase reach, we integrated social media sharing options for each event. Visitors can share event pages directly to platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, allowing London Sports to extend its reach organically and encourage community involvement.
Our partnership with London Sports resulted in a feature-rich digital platform that showcases the city’s most popular sports events. From a responsive design to an intuitive CMS, the platform provides Londoners with the tools to explore and participate in local sports, fostering a more active and connected community.
