We specialise in tailored back-end solutions that enhance operational efficiency and customer engagement. Whilst based in Eastern Europe, we collaborated with Hollywood Multiplex, a leading Romanian cinema chain, to upgrade their platform using Typo3. Our task was to deliver a robust, flexible back end that supports Hollywood Multiplex’s core services, from order management and seat reservations to loyalty programme handling and comprehensive reporting.
Typo3
Typo3’s Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) capabilities allowed us to create modular components tailored to Hollywood Multiplex’s needs. Demand management, seat selection, and fidelity card handling functionality were developed as independent modules, making the system scalable and maintainable. This approach enabled us to adapt features quickly based on Hollywood Multiplex’s evolving requirements.
The Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture in Typo3 helped us separate content, interface, and data handling. This structure improved back-end performance, ensuring core processes like seat selection and order processing ran smoothly without impacting front-end load times. MVC also enhanced data flow, allowing Hollywood Multiplex to manage high volumes of ticket sales effectively.
Typo3’s multi-site and multi-language capabilities streamlined Hollywood Multiplex’s content management across different locations and languages. This feature supports the cinema’s ability to localise offerings and promotions based on region, making it ideal for Hollywood Multiplex’s expansion and customer engagement strategies. This feature also serves the client’s aspirations regarding benefiting tourists or non-Romanian speakers.
Key functionalities
- We implemented an intuitive Demand management system that allows customers to reserve seats directly from a dynamically generated seating plan. The system provides real-time updates, preventing overbooking and ensuring smooth ticket purchases.
- Typo3 enabled us to design a loyalty card management system that tracks customer points and rewards. This functionality integrates seamlessly with the front end, encouraging repeat visits and rewarding loyal patrons.
- We configured Typo3 to generate automated invoices and developed custom reporting tools that provide insights into ticket sales, seat occupancy, and customer demographics. These insights help Hollywood Multiplex optimise its services and manage peak demand effectively.
Collaboration
Hollywood Multiplex specified a preferred agency for artwork and HTML development, and we integrated these front-end designs with Typo3’s back end. This collaboration ensured that the front end maintained a consistent brand identity while Typo3 handled complex back-end processes with stability and efficiency.
